On a cold, cloudy day, you can almost feel the chill of the Columbia’s water—still warmer than the steel and concrete of the bridges above. Look carefully, and you’ll see all five majestic bridges crossing the river, each carrying its own stories and connecting lands in a beautiful dance of nature and human engineering.
City night lights, along with parks and streets, come together to create their own works of art. Much of what we see is shaped by human creativity, but nature plays its part too, blending color, texture, and unexpected beauty into every city scene.
The sun glows behind layers of clouds, washing everything in soft light. People move across the bridge, caught in shadow, part of a gentle evening rhythm. The water reflects a muted glow, and the whole scene feels hushed and peaceful, as if the day is pausing for just a moment before fading away.
I'm not looking forward to a cold winter, but it's fascinating to see nature creating art using a different canvas and media during this season.
